Aarhus University’s is a globally-oriented university with a commitment to
excellence
in research and education and a strong engagement in the development of
society.
The Challenge
Aarhus University were looking for a development partner who could not only build a great mobile app but could also get involved in design process. They chosed Mobay Software for the development part of the project and us for UX / UI part. Aarhus needed an app to be used as part of new inside project, allowing the research team to collect valuable data on the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation and daily practices for a group of students.
Goals
- create user friendly interface
- create clean design, without eye-catching elements and anything that could disturb the user from the course
- make it easy to start they course for students
- make app which will track course progress of the user
- create the same feel for both platforms iOS and Android

Sketches, Application Map & Wireframes
We began with a series of discovery calls with the client to understand exactly what they wanted to achieve, the characteristics of the target student groups and the data that needed to be captured from the app. After gathering all the details and requirements we started to process the data. Thanks to the analysis we were able to create application map which helped us in further parts of the design process. At this point we created user flow sketches and later wireframes for both iOS and Android platforms.

Final designs
After few iterations of design work we created a simple, cross-platform ready user interface. We also did the icon set for the project. Mindfulness Home Practice app has been used to conduct an important project with a group of university students. The data captured via user progress has allowed our client to analyse in detail effectiveness in enhancing the wellbeing of its users over time.
